Lost foam casting is a new process with nearly no allowance and precise molding. This process does not need to take the mold, parting surface and sand core, so the casting has no flash, burr and draft angle, and the dimensional error caused by core combination is reduced. At present, XAT applies this process to the batch production process of engine cylinder block and cylinder head castings and the production of high-difficulty wear-resistant and heat-resistant castings.

Why use XAT lost foam casting?

●Dimensional accuracy is excellent, and the tolerance can generally reach CT7-9 level.

●High surface finish, generally up to Ra.3.2~12.5μm.

●Flexible design provides sufficient freedom for structural design of castings. Highly complex castings can be cast through the combination of foam plastic modules.

●There is no sand core in traditional casting, so there will be no uneven wall thickness of castings caused by inaccurate size of sand core or inaccurate position of lower core in traditional sand casting.

●Cleaner production, no chemical binder in molding sand, foam plastic is harmless to the environment at low temperature.
